Whirlpool Washer F6E2 Error

Troubleshooting and Repair - F6E2 Error Code - WFW75HEFW

The Whirlpool washer F6E2 error code is a communication error from the UI (user interface) to the ACU ( main control board).

This error is most times caused by faulty wiring or loose connectors at one the boards. It can also be caused by either board having failed. Check the wiring and connections between the two and if that checks out ok, unplug the washer for a few minutes and restore power to reset the electronic controls. If the error persists after that most likely one or both of the boards have failed.

the washer made a noise then stopped during a quick wash cycle. I unplugged it and left it for 5 minutes plugged it back in and got a dispenser error saying not detected, I reseeded the dispenser then pressed to restart, error code then was The washing is experiencing problems call the 1-800 # and tell service the error code is F6E2 I have read several of these questions and answers but when I tried to find the control panel part I cannot for my model listed above, is it worth trying to fix ?

That is a good question. For your model the user interface board is no longer being manufactured so you can't get them anymore. The Main ACU control is around 400.00. So if you spent the 400 or so on the main board you could still have a bad user interface which means you wasted 400 and still have to buy a new washer so to answer your question no it's not worth trying to repair just go buy you a new washer and be done with it you will be glad you did.

Is this typically the UI or the ACU? I had the error then i had no display and now that i have the machine apart i was at one point able to make the screen display again? I dont see any loose connections and have unplugged and re plugged back in everything Thanks

It really is about 50/50 as to which board is bad. My advice is to replace both boards as you can get them certified pre-owned for a reasonable price. If you want the part information just post a new question with the full model number stating you need part information for the ACU and UI.

The front door is not closing and the error messages can't be reset. Can it be the door lock switch?

Yes. The error F6E2 is communication error between the boards but if the door is not closing the door lock/switch is not making a connection which would interrupt communication of the boards.

Whirlpool Duet Washer

wfw94hexwo washer made a bang sound while washing, then stopped working. Error code F06 & E01, then E02, back to E01. The drum is much harder to turn, and feels very tight. Could this be something other than the washing machine motor control board? If the motor control board is replaced, could it burn out again if there is something causing the drum not to turn freely?

If the basket is hard to turn by hand then either there is something caught between the inner tub and basket or the rear bearing is fried. The motor control board has nothing to do with the drive system having a lot of friction.

F6e2 Error Codes

Whirlpool Model WFW94HEX has tripped these codes [F6 E2 ]. The service technician manual says: communication error UI to CCU. Does this mean the UI is bad. I set the washer to Quick Wash press start and nothing happens. I can rotate the close basket, no problem; all electrical connections appear to be fastened good. Thank you for your time.

The problem is it could be either board causing the error. When we ran warranty calls on these for the manufacturer they had us replace both boards. It really is about 50/50 as to which board is bad. Another bit of bad information is that the UI board is no longer being manufactured on those models so you can't get them anymore. So if you want to gamble that it's the CCU you can order it From the link below:

Whirlpool topload washer F6E2

Hi my name is calvin and I had a whirlpool washer with MOD WTW8500DC2 and SER C71770051, this washer just had changed the main Control board last week because the same problem (F6E2 error code) and now it happened again, please HELP! Thanks!

Hello Calvin,

If the main board did not fix the problem then check the wiring and connections between the main board and user interface, if those are ok then you need to replace the user interface as the main board is not getting input from the user interface. The replacement part number you need for that model is W10861501.
