The F31 error happens when the motor control unit's heat sinks get over heated. The motor control will send a signal to the main control telling it that it got too hot and has stopped the washer motor. This can be caused by a bad motor control board but usually not. If the washer tub was overloaded and put a lot of resistance on the drive system it will cause the motor control to overheat. If the tub bearing is bad causing excessive drag on the drive system it will also overheat. So check the drive system for drag and make sure the next load ran is not too heavy and see if it will run the full cycle. If not and you can't find anything causing drag on the drive system replace the motor control unit.
