Whirlpool Duet Dryer F28 Error

How do I fix this F28 code? Model WED6400SG1

First unplug the washer for a full 2 minutes then plug it back in and try to start a cycle if you still get the same codes after that you need to replace the interface boards. The boards you need for that model are linked below.

I’ve read all the questions and answers but above it says it has 2 sensors. Does the part above have 2 sensors or just one? Will I need to order 1 or 2?

My dryer recently threw a F28 code. I replaced the moisture sensor but this did not fix the problem. After reading the answer from Michael Crum’s question above, I replaced the control board. After hooking up the new control board it’s now throwing a F2 code. Should I have replaced the user interface board?

Yes, you have a stuck key on the interface board that is what the F2 error is anyhow. If the error is not resetting then yes the interface board is the issue. Sounds to me like both boards failed on the unit.

I have Whirlpool Cabrio dryer model WGD7300XWO. I got the f28 error code and ordered a new moisture sensor bar. After removing the front panel I noticed there were 2 strips. I replaced the top one with no luck, then replaced the bottom one. The bars don't appear to be corroded or covered in material to prevent contact. My dryer is still giving me an f28 error and flashing "sending". I'm stuck here. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the wiring harness connections between the moisture sensor and the main electronic control board, if the wiring looks good and there are not any loose connections and you already replaced the moisture sensors then the main board has failed. The dryer threw a code f28. I took a damp cloth and wiped the sensor by the lent intake. The dryer switched from sensing to wet on the control panel but the dryer still doesn’t come on. What’s my next step?

The F28 error on the cabrio models also means the moisture sensor is open, which means it's probably bad. However if the sensor is good then the sensor circuit on the main board has failed. Very unlikely problem so I would just go ahead and replace the moisture sensor first if that does not fix the problem then you will need to replace the control board.
