The Whirlpool Duet Washer F42 Error is a motor control unit failure. The motor control unit (MCU) is always checking for voltage, if during one wash cycle 4 under voltages are detected by the control then the central control unit will report the F42 error and stop the cycle.
Check the wiring between the motor control unit and the cental control unit for loose connections or damaged wiring. If the wiring looks good then replace the motor control unit (MCU).
