F25 Error

Whirlpool Duet Washer F25 Error

Troubleshooting and Repair - F25 Error Code - WFW9200SQ00

The F25 error is a problem with the washer motor's tachometer. It means the main control cannot determine the spin speed of the motor. This error can be caused by the motor, the motor control board, the main control board, or a wiring issue between all. It will take a ohm/volt meter, some skill and lot of patience to diagnose this problematic error. The parts involved are not very cheap so you will want to be sure which one is bad before just throwing parts at it.

Questions For Error Code F25

F25 And F21 Error Codes On A Whirlpool Wfw9500tw02, Ser.csy1404225

I have a question about both of these codes: Where should I start to look to resolve each code and could one code possibly be causing the other?

F21 is a drain error,  F25 is tachometer error which is built into the motor and relays the spin speed back to the control.. Now if it's not draining properly and the washer is not spinning properly because it has water in then yes that error could be caused by the drain error. Clean the out the drain trap filter on the pump and if that does not help the drain issue replace the drain pump. Once the drain issue is resovled, if you still have the F25 issue replace the drive motor also. Both parts you need for that model are linked below.

F25 Error Code

Whirlpool Duet washer WFW9200SQ02 - When washing, the first load it's fine, but if I put in a second load right after I get the F25 error code only on the rinse / spin cycle. I can let the machine set for about 45 minutes and complete a rinse and spin cycle, or if I wait for about 45 minutes to start a second load it is fine. I have replaced the MCU, I have checked the tachometer resistance and it was 117 which is good, but seems like temperature is playing a role in this, is this the motor or the CCU? Which would be the best to replace next.

From what you described that is going to be the motor, it's overheating and shutting off in overload and once it cools its able to complete the cycle. The motor new is about 350-400 but you can get a good pre owned motor that has been tested and in working order from the link below for 65 + shipping.

f25 error at end of cycle

f25 error at end of cycle replaced mcu motor operated properly on rinse spin with towels left house cust called back a n hour later stated in came back could this be the ccu

Hello,

Unfortunately, that error could be the motor, MCU or CCU. Since you replaced the MCU that leaves the motor and CCU as possible causes along with wiring between the MCU and CCU.

I have whirlpool front load washer with a code F25. I am not an expert at repairing washers bUt I am handy. I tried unplugging and plugging the washer. .

MOD: WFW9750WW01 Ser: CSY4908292

F25 means that your main central control board (CCU) and the motor control board (MCU) are not communicating with one another properly.

The motor control board is located under the tub mounted to the floor of the washer.

The CCU is mounted under the top panel of the washer and is the part with about 100 wires going into it. The first thing you'll want to do is remove the top panel and the lower front panel to look and make sure the belt is connected on the back of the washer and check the wire connections and make sure they are all secure.
If everything looks good, then you just have to guess which control board you want to replace first, either the MCU or the CCU and the problem is that there is no way to test and determine which part is faulty so it's just a guessing game. That being said, I find that the MCU causes this issue more than the CCU so I replace that first.

F-25 Error Maytag washer

Hello. Maytag Model # mhwz400tq01. I have an f-25 error. On the spin cycle, the motor will turn anti clockwise twice then won't spin again. Then the code f-25 pops up. I have checked all wiring and harnesses with no issues. I have tested pins 1-5. 5.7 ohms between pins 1-2, 2-3 and 1-3. Pins 4-5, I get 0 ohms. I have learned that the tachometer pins (4-5) should show 115 ohms. A little help would be great so I don't spend $200 on a new motor that I don't need. Thanks.

Hello,

Yes you are correct the approximate resistance is 117 ohms. Normal = 115 - 120 ohms between pins 4-5, if you do not which you are saying you don't the tachometer is bad in the motor and it's built into the motor so if you want to fix it the motor will have to be replaced unfortunately. You can get them for around 150.00 new on amazon there is a link below you can order it from. Once you click the link below click the see all buying options button the right side of page to see price.

If you don't mind getting a used motor you can pick up a good used motor on ebay for around 45.00 The part number you need to search for is WPW10140581.

Hope this helps.

Can you give me information about the F25 Error For Whirlpool Washer WFW9200SQ00

The F25 error for that model happens when the control is unable to properly detect motor speed, so the machine shuts down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door unlocks after 3 minutes.

Possible Causes/Procedure

1. Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts, spacers and the power cord are removed.

2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.

3. Check drive motor tachometer resistance. It should be approx. 115 Ω.

4. Check wire harness connections between the drive motor and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU).

5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.

6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor.

7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations
