The F23 error is caused by a water heating fault. If the temperature of the water in the washer does not get any hotter than 86 degrees fahrenheit or 30 degrees celsius within 40 minutes of the start of the cycle the control will log this error. This problem can be caused by a few things. A bad heating element, a bad temperature sensor or a wiring issue. Those parts will need to be tested with a ohm/volt meter to determine the cause of failure. Some Duet models have a heater and some do not. For the models without a heater the cause of the error is almost always the water temperature sensor.
Check the wiring and connections from the control the the heater and ntc for corrosion, loose connections, or damaged wiring.
To check the temperature sensor you just need to check the resistance and make sure the resistance is in range of the chart shown below. If the washer tub is empty just compare your resistance reading to whatever temperature is close to the room temperature the washer is in.
If your model has a heater check the heater for continuity (closed circuit) if it has continuity the heater is good and it's either a wiring issue or a bad temperature sensor.
