How To Remove The Cooktop And Access The Generator Housing (Induction Module) On A Frigidaire Gallery Slide In Range

To Remove The Cooktop And Access The Generator Housing (Induction Module) On A Frigidaire Gallery Slide In Range the first thing you need to do is remove the control console. Once you have the console removed. Follow the directions below.

 

Removing The Cooktop Assembly

Remove the 4 screws holding the front trim to the burner box there are 4 total 2 on the left side and 2 on the right side.

Cook Top Burner Box Mounting Screws

With those 4 screws removed raise the cooktop from the front and pull it towards you about 6 inches and unplug the quick connect connector.

At this point the cooktop assembly can be removed. Pick it up and place it on a flat surface. Remove the 10 screws holding the glass cooktop to the burner box. They are around the outside edges of the housing. Once those are removed pick up the glass cook top off the housing.

Removing The Elements

To remove the radiant element push down on the element and pull the clips locking the element in place away from the element.

Radiant Element Removal

To remove the induction elements lift and move the elements away from the connection inlet. Remove the insulation from the inlet. Remove the screw from the service panel and unplug the elements. Make sure to take a picture of the wiring before removing so you know how it wires back up.

Once the elements are out of the way lift up the insulation and remove the 2 screws mounting the housing assembly to the burner box.

Remove the housing assembly and place it on a flat surface. Remove the 6 screws holding the housing to the cover.

Housing Assembly Cover Removal

Unscrew the ground wire from the housing.

Remove the ground Screw

Once you have the ground screw out the cover will lift off and which gives you access to the generator housing (induction module).
